Welterweight division

Let the other guy have whatever he wants before the fight. Once the bell rings he's gonna be disappointed anyway. George Foreman.

Welterweight division

147lbs has been really shit hot for quite a few years now; in fact except for the Spinks/Judah era it's been excellent since the late 90s. However, Pacquiao, Mayweather and Shane can't be too far away from retirement. I only see those guys fighting each other or nobody from now basically. Cotto, Clottey and Margarito are damaged goods. Who does that leave? I'm not sold on Berto at all, then you're left with the likes of Collazo who are decent enough but short of genuine world class. It's been a great few years, but i feel we've missed out on some excellent fights (a lot of which has been to do with Mayweather IMO) and in 12 months time the division could well be absolute pony. Kell Brook could well clean up with a bit of luck.
IRONFIST on whether Valero would beat Pacquiao:

"Yep, Valero is clumsy but has big punch power and was knocking the heck out of Morales in one sparring session"

I was thinking about this when watching the Pac fight. Mayweather's cowardice and overwhelming femininity has doubtlessly fucked things up but noone, bar Pac recently has dominated.

Williams beat Marg, Marg beat Cotto, Cotto beat Mosely, Mosely beat Marg . . . It's been very competitive mind and given us some class fights to watch but I agree that it will be thin on the ground in the near future.

It's been such a great division over the years it's probably been the most consistently excellent division quality wise in my time watching boxing so i guess it is due a period when it is not one of the hottest in the sport. But just enjoy it while the likes of Mosley, Pacman & FMJ are still around (especially if Floyd beats Mosley and goes on to face Pac...lets face it if he beats Shane by hook or by crook we all know it'll happen). Like someone said it could be a good time for Kell Brook to be coming to the fore.

It's actually pretty weak below Brook. I'm not entirely sure what Brook's done to get his lofty ranking i.e. who has he beaten that's ranked?

The Ukranian guy who is WBA champ is somewhat of an enigma, but then these Eastern European guys usually are due to poor exposure. The Turkish guy who banged out Bonsu looks handy but limited.

Other than that it's pretty limited. Karass and Alvarez? Karass looked poor against Gomez last time out.

I'd like to see Bradley/Berto at some point, but only after Alex/Tim face-off for all the marbles at 140 and I think Bradley will lose.

Mr Warren's hoping so as shown in the post brook fight interview in which he creamed himself trying to goad Amir into fighting KB. 'Tell em Kell, tel em you'll fight Amir' Bitter cunt.
